Rachel Steinacher manages the development of IPA’s formal presence, country program, and portfolio of research in Tanzania. She has been with IPA since 2013, when she joined as part of IPA-Kenya's Senior Management Team. She has led 30+ research projects in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. Her management experience spans the sectors of water and sanitation, food security, poverty reduction / financial inclusion, mental health, cognitive development, health, and education.
Prior to joining IPA she worked as a resign and design specialist, principal investigator, and statistician for various NGOs in Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Canada, the United Kingdom, and United States.
Rachel has an MSc in Evidence-Based Social Intervention from the University of Oxford and a BA(hons) in Peace and Conflict Studies and Political Science from the University of Toronto.
