Nathan Fiala conducts research in Africa and Asia in order to develop answers to fundamental questions about economic development. His areas of expertise include organizational learning, microenterprise development, environmental economics, post-conflict recovery and community governance. Nathan is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Connecticut in the department of Agricultural and Resource Economics. Previous to this position, he was a post-doctoral fellow in the Development and Security Department at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin). He received his PhD in Economics from the University of California, Irvine.
