Director of Development
Amy Shaw’s career path traces two sets of interests: social justice and human rights, and the arts and humanities. A humanist and interdisciplinarian, she has worked on issues ranging from development in Africa to Roma women’s rights to promoting American craft and independent artisans.
Prior to joining Innovations for Poverty Action, Amy was Development Director for the Northeast Region at Operation Smile, and served as Director of Development and Communications at Millennium Promise which ran the Millennium Villages Project in sub-Saharan Africa.
Amy is a graduate of the New York University Draper Interdisciplinary Master’s Program in Humanities and Social Thought, and holds a B.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington University. Originally from New Hampshire, she enjoys the arts, yoga, seasonal cooking, and the Brooklyn waterfront where she lives with her husband and daughter.
