Remedial EducationA cost-effective solution for boosting reading and comprehension
The Government of Ghana is working with IPA to establish and evaluate a nation-wide remedial education program. Specific partners include the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the National Youth Employment Program, part of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Pratham is the largest nongovernmental organization working to provide quality education to the underprivileged children of India. Established in Mumbai in 1994, Pratham has since expanded to urban and rural areas in 13 Indian states, and reaches millions of children a year through a range of educational programs.
For just over $2 per child per year, remedial education using community tutors has been identified as one of the most cost-effective ways of boosting educational performance. Your contribution will directly benefit ongoing work in Ghana to see this program scaled-up across the country.
