Public Health, Trust and Vulnerability: The Case of COVID-19 in Pakistan

Abstract
To estimate whether differences in response to the pandemic are driven by trust in security services, researchers will examine the downstream effects of a community policing initiative through two waves of a mobile-phone survey. They will leverage a recent community policing RCT that created opportunities for positive interactions with police officers through community-police forums held regularly in some areas but not others. That upstream RCT enables them to assess whether such interactions increase individuals’ willingness to comply with policies such as banning social gatherings and limiting transportation.
