IPA Kenya signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Kenyan Government’s Vision 2030 Program. Vision 2030 is an initiative of the Kenyan government that aims to transform Kenya into a newly industrializing, middle-income country by 2030 through economic, social, and political development.

Dylan Ramshaw (Country Director, IPA Peru) and Mauricio Perez Alaniz (Research Coordinator, IPA Paraguay) presented results from the Graduating the Ultra-Poor study and held a two-day seminar with the Secretariat of Social Action in Paraguay, which is considering an evaluation of a Graduation Program implemented by the Paraguayan Government.

On June 4th, IPA, with J-PAL and the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP) held an event at the World Bank focusing on the new findings published in Science on helping the Ultrapoor. Researchers Dean Karlan and Esther Duflo presented the six-country findings, followed by discussion from Mariana Escobar Arango, Deputy Director General, Department of Social Prosperity, Colombia.

Nathanael Goldberg (Senior Policy Director, IPA) presented the findings from evaluations of IPA's Targeting the Ultra Poor projects in Ethiopia, Ghana, Honduras, India, Pakistan, and Peru at the Graduation and Social Protection Conference in Kigali, Rwanda on May 8. The Institute of Development Studies and the Government of Rwanda hosted the conference.

Annie Duflo (Executive Director, IPA) presented on IPA's Graduation of the Ultra Poor studies at the Asian Development Bank in Manila on May 2. The seminar's attendees included staff and officers from the ADB, government agencies such as the Department of Social Welfare and Development, and NGOs.
