Neha Kaul was born in New Delhi, India, and has lived and been educated in New Delhi (BS, biology), Heidelberg (MS, molecular biology), and New York, where she received a second graduate degree (MA), specializing in Bioethics at New York University. She was Director of Human Subjects Administration at New York Medical College before moving to UC San Francisco in the spring of 2016. In her prior positions and her most recent position at Hunter College, as the Director of Research Compliance, Neha has gained in-depth knowledge of human subjects research protection and research compliance from both the regulatory and administrative perspectives. She is interested in maximizing operational efficiency in human research protection programs with limited resources. Neha has presented abstracts at several professional conferences including Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research and co-authored a chapter entitled “Ethical Considerations in Children’s Participation in Environmental Health Research” in Pediatric Environmental Health 3rd edition (2012).
