Gustavo Caballero has been a consultant for the IDB's Labor Markets Division since June 2017. He is currently working on the design and evaluation of interventions based on behavioral economics seeking to increase pension savings in low-income populations. Prior to the IDB, Gustavo has worked on issues of education, microfinance, and evaluation for Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), ideas42, the World Bank and the Presidency of the Republic in Colombia. Gustavo has a doctorate in economics from the University of Calgary, with an emphasis on public economics and experimental and behavioral economics, he also has a bachelor's and a master's degree in economics from the Universidad de Los Andes in Colombia.
