Francis is an Assistant Professor of Economics and Insurance at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University, an affiliated professor at J-PAL, a fellow at the Center for Development Economics and Policy and the Center for Environmental Economics and Policy, and a consultant at the World Bank. Francis’ research lies at the intersection of development economics, household finance, and applied microeconomics, with a geographic focus on sub-Saharan Africa, India, and the United States. He received his M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. with a dissertation on the economics of contracts and risks from Columbia University in May 2018.
