Afke Jager is responsible for managing IPA’s projects in Myanmar and leading the development of new research opportunities. She previously served as Research Manager at IPA Myanmar, leading a portfolio of research projects spanning multiple sectors and regions. Before joining the Myanmar office, Afke worked as Senior Research Associate at IPA Mexico to evaluate a criminal justice reform in collaboration with the Mexican Attorney General Office. She also completed two IPA evaluations in Uganda concerning the long-term impacts of entrepreneurial training in secondary schools and an evaluation of information provision and interaction between healthcare workers and community members on accountability, health service delivery, and health outcomes. She has an MSc in Development Economics from Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
