Dr. Furaha Abwe is the Associate Research Manager at IPA Tanzania and leads a portfolio of research projects, spanning multiple sectors and regions. He is joining IPA from the International Rescue Committee (IRC) where he coordinated studies and an evidence unit for the multi-country PlayMatters project. He has managed field-based research projects with human subjects for over 10 years and has taught at various universities in Tanzania and South Sudan. He received his PhD in Planning from the University of Cape Town in South Africa and BSc in Urban and Rural Development Planning from the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.
