The Student Volunteer will support the Research Associate during the endline of the Time Allocation project. He/she will assist in maintaining tablets, making travel arrangements and preparing training sessions for field officers. The position is based in Ortigas Center, Manila and may include some travel within Luzon

Position Summary:  

The student volunteer will be involved in various aspects of the design and implementation of the project:

  • Assist in survey design and programming digital data collection for the baseline survey.
  • Assist in organization of research activities, eg. focused group discussion.
  • Conduct ad hoc research needed for the project.
  • Assist in data management and data cleaning.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree (or be currently enrolled in a Bachelors Degree program) in a relevant discipline (Social Sciences, Development Economics, Communication, Psychology, Public Administration)

Experience:  Familiarity with conducting field research is desired

Skills:   Excellent management, organizational, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills

Flexible, self-motivated, able to manage multiple tasks and work independently

Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Filipino

Others:  Willingness to travel in Luzon

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and/or good familiarity with economics/social science research
  • Experience in field survey or as an enumerator
