IPA-Philippines is looking to hire a Temporary Research Associate for four months to work on the analysis and final report of the Child Labor Project. The study is a randomized control trial in partnership with the Philippine Department of Labor and Employment to evaluate the impact of their Kabuhayan para sa Magulang ng Batang Manggagawa (KASAMA) livelihood program on the incidence of child labor. The Research Associate will work closely with Principle Investigators Eric Edmonds (Dartmouth) and Caroline Theoharides (Amherst) and the IPA-Philippines Research Manager and Country Director. This is a great opportunity to work on the analysis and policy-side of cutting-edge research with both experts in the field and a government partner committed to evidence-based policymaking.
- Collaborating with the PIs on the final analysis of the evaluation
- Anonymizing the dataset for publication
- Organizing small-scale qualitative data collection and analysis
- Preparing the final evaluation report and policy reports
- Assisting with the organization of dissemination events
- Regularly communicating updates and troubleshooting challenges with the Research Manager and PIs
- Demonstrated proficiency in Stata and strong quantitative and analytical skills;
- Experience with quantitative research, particularly with randomized controlled trials;
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in economics, statistics, public policy, political science or related fields;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent management and organizational skills;
- Flexible, self-motivating, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a team player;
- Fluency and excellent communication skills in English
