On May 17, 2022, Jeni Sorensen, Director of IPA's Human Trafficking Research Initiative (HTRI), presented at an event titled, "From Research to Action: the state of child labor and forced labor research and the need to build the evidence base to increase policy impact," as part of the 5th Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labor. During this event, presenters described the progress that has been made in building the evidence base on child labor, forced labor, and human trafficking; highlighted important gaps in knowledge and efforts underway to bridge these gaps; and emphasized the importance of effective use of data, rigorous research, and targeted use of resources for direct services to better reach vulnerable populations and make the most effective use of limited funding across countries.
