On April 27, 2021, IPA presented in a joint panel at CIES 2021 titled, "What’s good enough in SEL and Soft Skills Measurement?" Smita Das (Program Manager for IPA's Social Protection Program), Catherine Honeyman (World Learning), Elizabeth Kim (International Youth Foundation), and Allyson Krupar (Save the Children US) shared each organization's soft skill measures and had a conversation discussing tough decisions and tradeoffs they made along the way in developing these measures, including responding to the COVID-19 crisis, ethical concerns, local use of measures, and locally-based development processes. The IPA presentation, titled "Measuring Socio-Emotional Skills for the Workforce in Africa," discussed measures developed in collaboration with the World Bank Africa Gender Innovation Lab, and tested in Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, and Rwanda.
