On June 4-5, 2018, IPA and the National Board of Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) hosted the 2018 Ghana Women Entrepreneurship Summit (GWES). The summit convened high-level leaders from the Ghanaian government and from the private and nonprofit sectors for two days of presentations and panels focused on the challenges facing women entrepreneurs in Ghana, and solutions to support them effectively. IPA Ghana staff; country director, Madeleen Husselman; and Research Coordinator, Kym Cole; delivered a joint presentation on the second day of the event, covering the existing evidence on women entrepreneurs in Ghana. IPA's presentation provided an overview of randomized evaluations in the context of small-enterprise support programs and provided lessons learned from evaluations of finance and human capital programs.
