IPA Malawi recently worked with the National Statistics Office and the Malawi Social Action Fund (MASAF) to evaluate Malawi’s public works program, a major at-scale, government-operated social protection program.

While the program was not effective in improving food security or increasing use of agricultural inputs, the research team continues to collaborate with MASAF to identify strategies for improving the program.
