President Obama announced today that he will nominate Elizabeth Littlefield for President of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC).

In her role as CEO of CGAP, Littlefield has been an influential voice in conversations about the increasing commercialization of microfinance, the impact of mobile banking, the effect of the financial crisis on microlending, and the overall direction of the microfinance industry.

Littlefield joins microfinance supporters and fellow Obama nominees Maria Otero and Rajiv Shah in Washington.
