From September 28-29, the Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK) and the University of Johannesburg’s Centre for Competition, Regulation and Economic Development (CCRED) hosted the 8th Annual Capacity Building Workshop and Symposium on Competition Law and Policy during the 6th Annual Competition and Economic Regulation (ACER) Week (ACER VI). <a href="/people/Rafe-Mazer">Rafe Mazer</a>, Director of Consumer Protection, at IPA moderated a panel discussion on the linkages between competition policy and data protection law. This included a presentation on the potential of data portability rules to expand consumer choice and competition in digital finance and e-commerce, as well as a panel discussion on how regulators are developing new approaches to regulating the digital economy.
