On August 28, IPA's Chief Research & Methodology Officer, Steven Glazerman, conducted a training on power calculation and research design with technical teams from the Ministry of Education (MineduLab); Ministry of Social Development (AyniLab); and Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y AFP (SBS Peru); and IPA Peru staff in Lima, Peru. The goal of the training was to strengthen the design skills of technical teams at government units that are involved in evaluation design, implementation, and supervision. These government teams are currently working with IPA Peru staff—who both organized and participated in the training—on several randomized evaluations.
