On June 23, 2017, IPA Founder Dean Karlan presented on qualitative and quantitative methods at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippines. The seminar was attended by 30 management-level staff of the DSWD, including the department's undersecretaries and assistant secretaries. Discussions focused on how impact evaluations, specifically RCTs, can help improve the design of social protection programs.
